While a clarinet is used in this guide, this technique could be used on other woodwind instruments. A pad on a clarinet needs to be replaced if it falls off or becomes damaged. In this case, the protective film on the pad has fallen off.

  1. Disassemble the clarinet  until you are  handling only the  joint containing the missing or damaged pad.
