The Keyboard is held by 5x locking clips.

Pick up a little the one side of the Keyboard and start opening the clips one by one.

Disconnect the Keyboard flex cable from the mother board and remove the KB.

Remove 3x Philips screws.

Disconnect the two small flex cables:

Power On button flex cable

Touch pad flex cable

Thank you very much for this information. My X55C laptop "fell" off the table with the power cord plugged in and broke the inside of the case that holds the receptacle. The power cord could no longer make good contact to charge the battery.
I was able to take the laptop apart, and get at the power cord. I have a temporary fix on the power cord, and a new case bottom on order.
ASUS quoted me about $300 to replace the case bottom if I sent it to them to replace the case. I found a case (used) on Ebay that was about $12 including S&H and will be here shortly. The only suggestion I have is to explain how the "ZIF" connectors for the Touchpad and Power Switch work. I almost destroyed them trying to get the Ribbon Cables out and back in.
