If you are having trouble opening your DVD drive or reading CDs with it, use this guide to replace it with a new one.

  1. Turn over the laptop to view the underside.

  2. Use tweezers (or a similar tool) to slide the orange push pin. To release the battery, push it to the left.

  5. Remove the 7.0 mm screw, circled in the picture, using a Phillips head screwdriver.

  6. Once the screw is removed, the DVD drive should easily slide out

  8. Face the side of the DVD drive that connects to the laptop and remove the 3mm screw with a Phillips head screwdriver. Put the screw and the bracket to the side as you may need it for your replacement.
