Pull out the Driver preset panel, if your options package included this. Usually no tools required.

Now the door panel itself can be pried off the door. Starting at the bottom, find the plastic friction plugs and pull enough to pop them out one by one.

Then lift the door panel up off the door. You do not need to remove it completly. This should give you enough room to work on the mirror in the next steps.
