  3. 2010-2017 Suzuki Swift Head Unit Replacement, fit aftermarket head unit to frame: 手順 3、 1の画像 1
    • Fit your aftermarket head unit to the faceplate frame of the installation kit.

    • Depending on whether you have a 1DIN or 2DIN unit, this might mean some extra work.

    • The installation kit faceplate frame has some room between the sideplates and the actual device frame.

    • Also, using a 1DIN frame did not provide enough support to not fit without the sideplates. Perhaps when installing a 2DIN device with this faceplate, no sideplates are needed for support.

  4. 2010-2017 Suzuki Swift Head Unit Replacement, prepare and connect the harness: 手順 4、 1の画像 1
    • At (1), connect the stereo supplied power cable with the installation kit supplied adaptor cable.

    • If you have a car stereo brand specific steering wheel control interface (in your install kit), you do not have to perform the steps at (2) and (3).

    • What are the appropriate cables in the universal steering wheel interface depends on your brand aftermarket unit. The installation kit includes an overview of supported brands and install choices.

    • At (2), strip the end of the steering wheel interface cable and crimp on the appropriate "key" cable from the universal interface.

    • At (3), disconnect the appropriate patch cables and prevent them from shorting.

    • At (4), connect both leads to the steering wheel input control box.

    • The harness you made (and the antenna adapter) can be connected to your aftermarket head unit and the Suzuki cable interface.

    • Reconnect the battery, turn on the car and the head unit and test if everything is working as it should be.

    • If you have to undo any of the cables, don't forget to disconnect the battery again.

    • Make sure the clips (shown in the bottom two) are removed, or fit on the replacing faceplate frame.

    • Depending if and where you put some bolts on the replacing faceplate frame, cut out some of the plastic.

    • After that, you can click back your new head unit.

    • And finally, click back the top cover.

Hi, I would like to know if the steering wheel interface is necessary because the suzuki buttons send the commands via CANBUS and the head unit only can be controlled by resistive type of buttons. Thank you.

Hi was this resolved? I’m seeing documentation for universal adapters suggesting they are already resistive and not canbus. I’m looking at a 2016 swift

Hi,

Does the antenna need power, I bought an installation kit and not he antenna adapter there is a blue wire, i assume this needs to be connected?

Not sure I connected the blue antenna cable from the kit. It mentions on the product site as a "DIN Antenna Adapter With Phantom Power Supply", so my guess would be no (https://connects2.com/Product/ProductIte...).

No this is for an old fashioned retractable aerial - these days it's a useful 12v trigger for an amp.
