Accidentally sheared off ziff connector for fan
I accidentally sheared off the ziff connector for my fan on my Mac mini m4 logic board. Pins look intact. Is there any place to send to get it fixed?
Where a-bouts do you live? Country, nearest Major City to you.
You'll need to find a Micro-soldering Specialist
Did you try looking for a local or mail-in electronics repair shop that specializes in micro-soldering and board-level repairs?
They may be able to source the connectors from a "donor" board or get them from an electronics distributor and solder it back on your logic board.

I'm in the Washington DC area. I've been looking locally, but there are few micro-soldering places listed online. One local shop wanted me to supply the broken ziff, which was in pieces.
@rds1985 - One of the best Micro-Solderers is in upstate New York! I know Jessa for years! Tell her we sent you over. She can get the replacement connector if she doesn't already have it.
ChatGPT suggests this might be the replacement, but can't confirm and I don't trust it. HIROSE ELECTRIC FH34SRJ-5S-0.5SH
@rds1985 - Are you looking for the connector?
Unless you have a good soldering iron to desolder the remaining pins so you can mount a fresh connector with the needed skills to solder the new one. I can tell you a good board level repair tech will have access to the correct part or know where to go.
@danj always open for suggestions!

I’ve had a few offers, but the other problem is the connector did not come off in one piece. Most are asking for me to supply the replacement connector. Ideas?
