Hi @jhucci
With the laptop turned on and the display switched back to the laptop screen (not to external monitors) try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the screen and check if you can see any images on the screen. They will be very faint if they are to be seen, so trying this in a darkened room may help to see them if they are there.
If you can't see any images there there's either a problem with the video cable (loose connection either end motherboard or LCD panel) or a faulty LCD panel.
If you can see images then there's a backlight problem with the display. This could be due to a faulty backlight power supply on the motherboard, a problem with the video cable (loose connection either end motherboard or LCD panel) or a faulty LCD panel.
Here's the maintenance and service guide taken from this support webpage for the laptop.
Go to p.38 (46 of 93 pdf) to view the procedure to remove the display assembly.
This will allow you to gain access and check if the video cable is securely connected to the motherboard.
To isolate whether it's a motherboard backlight power supply problem or an LCD panel problem you will need the schematics for the motherboard. Please post back the motherboard's board number (printed on the board itself) e.g. number might begin with DA0???? perhaps, so that the schematics can hopefully be found online.
If it is a faulty LCD panel, then the part numbers for all the panels that can be used in the model series are shown on the top of p.38 in the guide. Search online for the part number only (applicable to your particular model variant) to find suppliers that suit you best.
