Reformatted Hard Drive, but now I can't re-install OS

I recently was forced to reformat the hard drive after constant kernel panics and other failures, but now I can't re-install the OS. I am using the discs that came with the computer so I know that that's not the problem. It will only load to the apple logo and that's as far as it will go. What can I do?

If you had constant kernel panics then it was most likely not your hard drive. Normally kernel panics are caused by faulty ram. You might try replacing the ram or try switching which socket each ram module is in. A guide for changing ram can be found here:

Would any kind of DDR3 RAM work? Because I switched in RAM from a Toshiba that I had but it yielded the same results. Could a bad logic board be doing this as well?
