8 Weird Keyboard Behaviour after laptop in box fell down...
2015 A1502 13" retina Pro. New Battery, 90% charged & New TP + Cable.
Laptop was secure in its original apple box complete, working fine.
Box fell down 1.5m from the shelf. Nothing came out, box stayed closed.
Opened it up, all components intact, nothing lose or fell out.
KB Connection reset correctly a few times. Latch is secure. Keys all working.
I swapped out the TP & Cable 2x with other new components and all is functioning fine when the laptop is powered up. But, it will only power up when connected to the charger. Has the fall somehow broken the KB power button?
Scratching my head as this is an odd one...... PRAM reset completed.
I tried adding US KB layout and back to ABC biu it didn't help.
CAPS lock and KB power button no function & the /// key adjusts the KB backlight, - key dims down th KB backlight, F1 does volume down....... Input source is ABC and it is a fresh install Monterey. KB is suddenly defective ?

Did the Battery shift?

@danj Nope, battery never moved..... I am changing the keyboard in it as I type, I put the battery into another unit and it is working perfectly. It can only be the KB has done a funny one.....

@livfe - I think the battery shifted pressing on things to damage.

@danj Battery was stuck down, never moved, even if it did what could it have pressed on to damage? Only the TP cable... but I have changed that and a TP and they function OK... Just Power button no effect and some keys performing different tasks as mentioned. Very weird.... TP is protected by a plate that would withold any battery movement.... only the cable I can think of could have been affected. All conections on the board are intact, nothing appears to be damaged.

Keyboard is out, almost all the rivets remained..... punched them out, drilled a small hole for the screws... not a single screw wants to get home :( Nightmare ..... Anyway, New KB all OK.
