What’s this part called?
My Macbook pro A1706 doesn’t boot. Looks like a capacitor/diode/something? Blew up. Can anyone say what this part is called and where I can buy it? Do I need to check other parts or will this be an easy fix?
Thanks!
@bramschiepers that is reference designator C7490 which is a 33µF 16V 20% capacitors in a Case-B3 package. It's a bit hard to find due to the B3 case. Based on the dimension of that case, you should find a close match just measure the solder pads on your board and use Mouser.com or Digikey.com to find a case that will fit. Remove the old one, clean the solder pads, check for any short to ground. After that reinstall the new one and see what you got.
