Hi,
can anybody suggest a decent aftermarket brand for a battery replacement?
Seems like some newer batteries, do show also % and can be "installed" in the repair menu, meaning no fuzz oh having any sort of warnings.

@melicherc always keep in mind that our "Hosts", who are in the business of selling quality parts, has those part in stock, we.. The only recommendation in that case is to purchase the battery from here iPhone 12 mini Battery
Anything else, use Google to make your decision based on whatever criteria you have.

Unfortunately the price of the battery from Ifixit is the same as original from Apple in my country.
@melicherc I see. What country are you in? Lets see if we can help you out.
I am from Czech Republic , from ifixit the standalone battery with shipping is 58Euros . Apples original battery is 51Euros when returning the old one, so even cheaper.
Aftermarket batteries here are approx 15-30Euros, but no clue about the quality.
@melicherc nice! Anyhow, in your case I would see if any of your repair shops or repair techs will let you know what batteries they are using. Not sure what the Repair Cafe situation is like in the Czech Republic. Those people are a great resource and love to share their knowledge. Maybe our European experts @benz78 or @vauweh can help you out further.
I would prefer to buy spares from ifixit.
If not available here, i am looking at Amazon or eBay, But i am not able to make an educated guess which manufacturers are better than others.
You always have the choice - it depends on what you would like to do.

iFixit never made batteries. They sell quality batteries.
Oh forget it.
Remember, if you buy cheap you get cheap. Also batteries can be programmed to change the charge cycle count to zero. Some aftermarket batteries are re wrapped batteries from other brands. I got one that looked odd. Pulled the wrap off to show a preowned apple battery that was sold as brand new.
