How to reattach fan and subwoofer connectors to the logic board?

Hi,

I followed the "lower case" disassembly instructions for my MacBook. Everything went fine.

Now when I tried to reassemble everything, there's a problem with to of the connectors: the subwoofer connector and especially the fan connector. I pried them off the logic board as described, but now I cannot see how they can be reattached. There is no socket, just pins on the board. Do I need to use glue to attach those connectors? And if so, what kind of glue should I use?

Thanks!

Eric

Do you mean the two sockets are detached (desoldered) from the logic board and are now at the end of the cables ? If so I don't think that any glue could restore an electrical connection from the socket to the board.

Could you upload picts of the connectors ?

Well, I'm afraid that's what I did - the sockets are detached from the board. When I looked again at the connectors, I understood what I *should* have done.

Is there any hope repairing this? (It's not the only problem with the MacBook).

Sorry but if you go to any Apple dealer for such a repair they will only quote you for a logic board replacement cause they don't repair boards at component level. You may try to find an electronic shop that would resolder the cables directly to the logic board or use special reflow method to attach the sockets to the board.

Thanks for the answer!

I was actually lucky with that repair: a friend of mine managed to resolder the sockets to the logic board, now the MacBook runs again.
