Samsung Galaxy A41 won't power on

I dropped my Galaxy A41 and the screen cracked slightly. I continued to use it but one day I let the battery drop below 5%. I plugged it in to charge, and haven't been able to turn it on since then.

I've replaced the screen, battery, and USB board at the bottom, but no luck so far. I noticed that the battery drains slowly (I charge it externally). Has anyone seen this problem? Any suggestions for troubleshooting and repair? I'm willing to do component-level repair if needed.

Hi @greg56100

Here's the troubleshooting section from the service manual for the phone.

Go to p.4 and follow the Power On troubleshooting flowchart and see how far you get.

There are board layout diagrams on p.2 → p.3 showing the location of the components that may help.

Unfortunately the browser search function (Ctrl + f) doesn't seem to work for the document so you will have to find the location of the components mentioned in the flowchart by visually searching for them. You also have to zoom in a lot - 500%+ but then it gets fuzzy.

Good luck.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I couldn't find that document for the A41. Where do I find signals like PWRHOLD?

@greg56100

Not sure but maybe work backwards and check the voltages on the components to check if PWRHOLD is not 1.8V e.g. L5008, L5010 etc.

If they're all OK you could assume that PWRHOLD is OK

I found that Samsung's PMICs have a PWRHOLD signal but this phone has an MT6358 PMIC. I'll check those voltages.
