The battery won't charge and the camera won't turn on.
the camera is really old though like 17 years old. i think the problem is in the battery itself because it's not charging as well

Try replacing the battery with a new one. Once you get the new battery, fully charge it, insert it into the camera and then check if the camera turns on.
Search online for LI-50B battery to find suppliers that suit you best.
