MacBook screen stuck on apple logo after erase all content and setting

-stuck like that for 24h already, no indication of any progress.

-not turning off when holding power button, screen just go black for 10s, goes to sleep or hibernate i guess and after 10s turns itself on, on it’s own, back to the original issue.

-none of the boot keyboard key combination are working since MacBook is not actually switching off.

-discharging the MacBook battery does not change anything, seems like system is restored back to the original issue from hibernation.

-MacBook plays sound when connecting charger.

-its warm

-didn't check drive usage/capacity before starting erasing. Could be “securely” erasing 10000 TB of data?

Any advice?

Why did you erase everything? Without access to the OS files the system won’t fully boot. At this point you need to restart the system and using the Startup Option keys jump into OS Recovery. Here we need to use Option-Command-R or Shift-Option-Command-R

Reference: Mac startup key combinations

More context and resolution.

This is company MacBook returned by user, I usually don’t deal with those, but since there was no rush on giving it to the another user I wanted to try “Erase all content and settings” like you would do on iPhone to restore to factory default. Apparently that failed horribly and corrupted the filesystem. Mac was not responding to any Startup Option keys combination except the one initiating DFU mode. With that I revived AND restored Mac firmware and computer managed to recognise borked filesystem (folder with ? on power on). Next was network recovery where I needed reformat the SSD and install fresh OS - which was the actual goal of this exercise gone wrong.

Facing same issue how did you fix yours

@davidagyei - This system required a DFU firmware recovery and then a full re-install of the OS. This was do to corporate asset tracking software installed.
