Dodge Neon year 2000 that has a speedometer problem

I have a Dodge Neon year 2000 that has a speedometer problem I need help when I reset the speedometer it will go to the four needle positions it's supposed to the needles move how they should as soon as I start the car the tachometer goes to the one and then it drops back down to zero none of the other gauges except for the gas gauge is working and then after about 10 seconds of the car idling the check engine light comes on there are no visible codes when I plug in my OBD2 reader what do i doI have also checked all of my fuses and relays which appear to be fine

Here's the service repair manual that may help.

Scroll down and select either the Instrument Panel and Systems or the Instrument Panel and Systems 2 section (most probably both idk) and check what they show for how to check the instrument panel components.

@matthewswo22412 besides the great answer provided by my colleague @jayeff, this sounds like you have an issue with your instrument cluster. I'd start there, check the components as well as the connectors. Check for corrosion etc.

Your speedometer, tachometer and coolant temp are getting the signal from the powertrain control module (PCM). See if these chapters from the SM PCMInstrument Cluster help you to diagnose the issue. I would pay particular attention to the diagnostics of the instrument panel.
