I've read the few questions and answers on this topic and have collected some data about my mac but I can't find anywhere first what my dvd drive model, second where to buy a replacement part. Could anyone help and also report on any replacement successfully made?
PS: I know about the "buy an external drive" tip but I'd like to keep my desk clean, that's one of the motive behind having an imac, isn't it ?

I know what you are talking about when you say they are hard to find. This is the source that I used to replace my optical drive but it requires some extra work. First you will need to follow this guide to remove your optical drive:

then you will need to buy this replacement part right here (I know that it says its for the 2.93 GHz model but it will work with any 2010 model):

then, and here is the part you will need to pay attention to, you will need to transfer everything that isn't on the new drove but is on the old drive over. This includes all the mounting accessories and temp sensors that will be found on your old drive but not your new one. Once the old drive looks like the new on and all the parts that were on it are installed, you can reassemble the iMac.

Thanks for the link to the shop, I just ordered it. I've seen the guide already, time to get my ifixit toolkit and open my first mac, something to remember I'm sure
