iPad will not reset even booting to laptop

My iPad won’t reset. I tried to even get it into DFU mode. I believe because I can’t get the slider up to turn it off. Is there anything to do anymore. I read Apple won’t be able to do anything with it either. Just offer trade

Can you explain about not being able to use the slider? Do you mean the touch screen isn't working?
