iphone4s 32gb white . it getting too hot when i put the sim card insert . it only remain in searching mode and battery is draining very fast like in 1 min 6% drained and get too hot from battery jack and the near by and middle bezel also from below the sim card . before it was working fine. it was dropped on the floor but working after accident . it worked for approx 6 days. now showing this symptom .

the reason it is getting hot it's because the phone is trying to connect to a network and there is no signal prob....also you might want to check and see if your wifi is on. I notice recently with mine, if the wifi is on and it is not getting to connect to the wireless router, the phone gets REALLY hot....
hey simran, maybe you should check and see if there is something shorting in the area of the sim card - maybe metal particle slipped in there some how....

It still getting hot after turning off still in searching and no signal again and again ..
simran.. If no battery drain when in either airplane mode or there is no sim then your problem is the antenna/sim. check them out and report back. You may need to replace the dock/antenna and see what happens..
i already replaced the dock connecter. after removing the dock connecter still getting hot .....
and the sim slot? any cracks in the solder on the pins etc? If you plug phone in to mains and put sim in, is the sim detected/signal strength ok?
Still getting hot while on charging. After 2-3 mins it stopped charging also showing fully charged at 60% . but in flight mode it charges normally. really sick at this stage

Hi my friends.....
The problem is not the sim. The problem is the baseband chip ! This is the one that gets hot ! The phone searches for signal and even it is to low or nothing at all especialy in places with low signal ... If you put your phone in airplane mode you will notice that it works perfect ! Thats the reason it doesnt gets hot because te baseband chip turns off in airplane mode . When you notice that the battery latst for not long time it is because the phone tries to find signal and loads all the energy that it can to find signal... And takes more energy from the battery to do that....
.... I beleave that the baseband chip is defected somehow possibly by drops of the phone ....
With this as guide if some one finds something better it would be very nice ! Thanks

my iphone logic board is shorted . i think its not aa baseband chip may be .

I changed the logic board . Visit the Local repair shop if then can find out or repair the problem . it looks like baseband ic problem
wts the cost of baseband ic ???

Pollytintop - my signal comes back once connected to mains... But phone still gets super hot.
Any ideas anyone? Phone gets super hot, no signal most of the time, and battery drain is rapid!

same issue with my iPhone 4s, I first thought it was ios 8 upgrade but seems like it is something else.The battery and motherboard has been checked and seems to be fine as per the local repair shop, no clue whats causing this, very frustrating....
please i need a fix for this .. my 4s is read the network name in about section .. and get the carrier in setting but always searching for signal for a long time and then no service .. and also getting too hot. during searching and battery drain rapidly .. i think is a hard ware issue due to the baseband or the A5 processor .. i heard from some one that the processor legs (pin) not all connected on the logic board and its need a higher rate of hot air to resold correctly but there is a protective material may melt of higher heat and cause failure to a5 processor .. is this right or wrong please respond if any one know about this issue

My IPhone 4S also have this kind of problem, and it is so frustrating because of this my Iphone works just like an IPad now. When I inserted the sim it will start searching for a signal but it will stay on searching mode and the back of my IPhone gets so hot.

when insert sim card in iphone 4s its getting very hot and battery is drain within few mins, its working wifi very fine, only sim is insert iphone problems start. please help me as soon as possible..

Some tips : change the network selection mode to manual and select the preferred network. I had the same issue and it helped me to fix it.. though its not a great solution but for time being i have done this and it helps me in using my phone for longer time with no extra battery drainage.

My frnd checked the Battery terminals. He said this iphone is shorted. He checked some tracks it shows fully shorted . baseband ic is getting so hot while it uses the sim card. without sim card it running perfectly. anybody know where to start the checking of shorting ?

not being funny simran, but why would a shorted battery give you problems when the sim is inserted? I'd be looking at antenna/sim problems as this seems to be when the problem starts. If sim is inserted but in aeroplane mode do you still get the drain?

in aeroplane battery is not draining . when i turn off the flight mode. it remains in searching always and getting hot.
