Ipad Will not connect to WIFI, won't even see available networks!

I have an Ipad 1, and the wifi no longer reads any available netowrks. I have run the gammut of software issues, and have restarted, reset, and updated the device....must be a hardware issue. Has anyone else had this issue? Can it be fixed by replacing the antenna, or the whole BT/Wifi chipset? (ps BlueTooth works fine!)
