Why is my phone stay at 1% and turns off after 30 seconds

i have this phone that turns off after i turn it back on and it turns back off after 30 seconds and it stays at 1%. i bought this battery from ifixit waiting for it to arrive would that fix the problem because i cant afford a phone right now
