How to solve frequent crash with PanicString sensor Assertion Error

iPad Air 5th Gen 256GB WiFi only. iPad crashes frequently and restarts. An extraction from the panic report is as follows:

"panicString" : "panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffe001945cac8): SMC PANIC - ASSERTION FAILED: target\/ipad13b\/target.cpp:342: 0, SMC BSC failure, spreadsheet ver(*10) 40\nS.sensor array 0 - 7 is 0x2000, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0 0x0\nF.sensor array 0 - 1 is 0x0 0x0\n\n - Misc(2) OUTBOX2 not ready\nASSERTION FAILED: target\/ipad13b\/target.cpp:342: 0, SMC BSC failure, spreadsheet ver(*10) 40\nS.sensor array 0 - 7 is 0x2000, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0 0x0\nF.sensor array 0 - 1 is 0x0 0x0\n\n\nRTKit: RTKit-2419.140.12.release - Client: AppleSMCFirmware-4283.140.4.ipad13b.REL

I know it is a hardware issue, but don't know what exactly.

Can someone help me understand the issue and how I can repair it?

I had This problem recently but I find this solution...this problem comes from battery terminals. you've to clean and reinstall battery terminals and problem fixed hopefully

Hi,

I’m not yet versed in panic logs, but I did find this free tool available at GitHub:

https://github.com/waynebonc/iDeviceLogA...

It says the program has support for various Apple devices, not sure if you have any interest in learning to use this resource or not.

Other than that, there are community members that are proficient in panic logs and could assist, but you will need to wait until one sees your post and can help you to track down the specific hardware issue.

@decadessen81812 I tried to check the panic log with this iDeviceLogAnalyzer and it said possible issue is NAND

Unfortunately, while we have seen this problem before, we do not currently have any information on the specific error code (0x2000) you're getting. While there are many iPhone error codes that have been identified, for some reason the iPad codes are far less well understood. Here's the previous question I tried to help with from someone with the same problem.

Thanks for taking time to reply. I would like to take up this challenge as we got a rare opportunity to explore more on iPad error codes. It will be a helpful to the community if we could crack this. By profession I'm an engineer, but I don't deal with hardware, kernel, OS etc. I would appreciate if I can get all support in analysing the issue further.
