no power, dim green light on magsafe

HELP!!!!

I am donating a mbp to a kid.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010)

Serial Number: W80377ZCATP

I put an L shaped 60 watt magsafe adapter, super dim green light. NO power on. Using an older adapter not L shaped, bright green light, still no power. Battery is completely dead, no lights at all. Took the bottom off, I see nothing wrong at all. Started looking at the logic board and the little power board. I am not going to spend 80 bucks on a charger if the machine is dead. can anyone lend ideas? I am located in chicago illinois
