Why is my screen still blank after replacing the program osX lion

Is the screen black or white? Will it boot from the original system installation disk? How did you install Lion? What was your previous system?

We would need much more detailed information to offer any useful help. Blank screens usually mean damaged video chips, inverters or LCD displays.
