Can I remove the Wifi IC and still have the iPhone turn on?

My question is, if I remove the Wifi IC from the motherboard, and try and start the phone, will it power on? or will it get stuck in a bootloop or something, thanks!

Edit: The reason I want to remove it, is because the phone is water damaged, and all the components around the chip are shorted to ground, so I thought my best bet was removing it and seeing what happens. Also, if I do remove it, what is a good temperature to use with my heatgun?
