Ice Maker Won't Continue Making Ice

I have the fridge model rf28hmedbsr. About 2 years ago samsung replaced the ice maker due to icing up (a lot of people have this issue). The new one has worked well until 2 weeks ago. The ice bin was full, so the maker stopped making ice as it should. I used all the ice in the bucket, but the unit didn't make a new ice. I hit the reset button on the side of the ice maker and the unit went through its cycle. It dumped the ice it had ready and it filled with water. It would not, however, dump the new ice. A few hours later I hit the reset. Same thing...dump ice, fill with water, stop.

I thought maybe something was iced up so I took the bucket out and thawed out the ioce maker area with a blow dryer on gentle warm. Still the same. I replace the ice maker with a new one, same thing.

It is like the unit is stuck thnking that the bin is full. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time!

PS--I have checked to make sure the fridge is getting water, replaced the filter, and turned the whole fridge off for a while and plugged it back in.

Dug around some more. The ice maker itself is working, it's like the ice maker thinks that the bucket is full. Found out their is an optical eye that senses when the bucket is full. I help my phone camera up to it (people said that the phone camera will pick up a purple IR light coming from the eye) and there was nothing. Going to try a new auger motor unit (new eye included) to see if that solves it. I'll keep everyone posted.

Here's the If Cubed or Crushed Ice is not supplied troubleshooting flowchart from the service manual that may help to find out what's wrong.
