Why won't my machine stop and unlock after spinning it stops at 1 seco

Hi ✨Anyaoha larry gabriel Chuk✨, I hope you are having a great day🌟 Let's have a look on your problem, looks like your Whirlpool washing machine does not stop and unlock after spinning. Also, please try to give the most you can, give more details of your machine from next time because it gets easier for your buddies to give you the best and the most accurate answers for your stuff to get fixed. I will try to solve this problem considering the machine as a "General Whirlpool washing machine".

You can try out the following steps to try diagnose and fix the washing machine by yourself:

• Unbalanced Load or Oversized Load:

# Sometimes the problem looks big but the solution is like a piece of cake you need to eat. Try to reduce the load given by you on your washing machine. May be it's too much, and if that's not the case, just skip to the next check.

• Faulty Shift Actuator:

# As you said that the machine wont stop spinning, the problem might lie under the Shift Actuator. This thing switches your washer from agitating to spinning mode. You can test the part and replace it by yourself.

• Stuck in Flood Control Mode:

# It might happen that your machine detects potential water overflow. This activates a flood control mode. If you want to end this mode, try waiting for the pump to stop and then inspect and replace the drain pump if it is faulty.

• Door lock issues:

# You mentioned that your machine won't open. If the washer does not unlock after a wash cycle, then || Unplug the washer or disconnect power from the washer -> wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset -> Reconnect power to washer or basically plug in the power cord -> Run a "Drain and Spin" cycle. The door should unlock after this is complete. If not, this indicates some serious problem.

• Malfunctioning timer:

# If resetting the washer did not work out, then it most likely means that your timer is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. If your comfortable to open up and tear down the washing machine then you can disassemble the control panel of the washer to test the timer with a multimeter and replace it.

Try pressing the Reset button for 3 seconds and check if that unlocks the door.

If no good, disconnect the power to the washer for 5 minutes then reconnect the power and check if this resets it and unlocks the door.
