The circuit which receives signals from our remote doesn't work.

The circuit inside our Vizio E420-A0 TV, which receives signals from our remote, doesn't work any more. It used to, but it has stopped working.

I know this because neither of our remote controls work and the exterior buttons do work. I have been told this circuit is on the main board. If so, can it be repaired? Do I need to replace the main board or is something else causing the problem? Thank you.

@leom24585 you will have to disassemble your TV. There is a small board called an IR board that is the receiver for that remote signal. It connects via a ribbon cable to teh main board. The board is replaceable and not to expensive.

This video will show you how to get into your TV. The IR board is the one that is by the power LED. Post some images of that area so we can tell you how to remove it.

The Vizio part number is 3642-0292-0189, now we just have to find it. Places like this do have it. Example only and not an endorsement
