No charging light, won't power on.

Use a DMM (digital multimeter) and check if there's 20V DC on the output plug of the charger. If you don't have a DMM try to access a compatible charger for the laptop and check that the laptop indicates that the charger is connected.

If the charger tests OK then there may be a problem with the DC-In jack in the laptop (supplier example only to show part).

What sometimes happens is that the centre +ve connector of the jack, breaks internally, opening the power path between the charger and the motherboard. This means that there's no power at all available to the motherboard.

To verify if the jack is OK or not, you will need to access the motherboard and test if the charger voltage is getting to the motherboard or not.

If it is determined that the jack is faulty then the motherboard will have to be removed from the case to enable the jack to be removed/replaced. You will need soldering tools and skills to be able to do the repair.

If the jack is OK then further testing of the motherboard, using the schematics for the board, would be required to find out what's wrong. I found this website that appears to have them but you have to join to be able to download them.
