Why does my new battery not charge?

Hi,

I bought a new battery from you wich arrived about a week ago. and istalled it without any problem. I replaced the old battery beacause it would not charge at all)

The new battery showed to be charged to 65% when I turned it in for the first time. It works fine, but does not charge. That is I started charging it right away, but after one night of being connected to the adapter it still remains at 65%.

What is the most likely cause of this. A faulty adapter? Something else?

Let’s clarify things… this is not the iFixit Store, this is an independent volunteered supported help site iFixit supports!

So we need some more info to help you:

What is the MagSafe cords LED is it Amber or Green?

Are you using the correct charger? The 13” uses a different charger than the 15”

Let’s get a view on things, install this gem of an App CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the Apps main window while the charger is plugged in as that will offer what we need for info to figure things out.

Sorry for getting it wrong with the Forum and Ifixit

I just turned on my laptop again. I havent used it for a week since it was not charging.

To my surprise the battery was now totally drained. There was an X in the battery symbol - just as with the old battery in fact. i then restared the laptop and to my surprise it started charging from 1 % and is now up to 31%.

So it is looking promising.

I downloaded Coconut and the numbers serms ok. ( for some reason I cant write an answer to you on my laptop so I’m using my phone, so I cant get a picture of the coconutstats) The light on the adapter cable is green for a few seconds when I plug it in and then turns orange and stays orange. The battery symbol says 31 % and keeps going up.

So everything seems well for now.

But I have an inkling I will be back with more questions.
