Is there a procedure for cleaning dust on the inside?

My early 2008 Macbook Pro appears to be running hotter than it used to when doing simple tasks like watching a youtube video. According to iStat, the GPU temps rise considerably (diode 71 to 85, heatsink 60 to 72), the CPU jumps from 60 to 82, and the fans go from 2000 up to 5800 RPMs.

I'm thinking that cleaning dust from the fans and heatsinks might help.

Unplug

remove the battery, Open top case following guide. Blow off dust with low pressure high volume air. You can brush top side with a wide, soft brush (artists brush, not house painters). BE GENTLE - you don't want to rip off any wires, connectors or parts. Force air under the logic board from front to back.

Does it sound to you like I'm on the right track or am I really worried about nothing? Any other thoughts on what might cause this behaviour?
