Display has been knocked out of the top casing. HELP!

So there was a cosmetic (or so I thought) dent on the right side of the display panel, i.e, my right while i'm typing this. This would cause the top lid to have a sort of a harelip when the lid has been closed down on to the laptop. Now, recently, a friend of mine jerked the display back with some force, and, I didn't notice it at that time, but the display assembly is now distanced from the aluminium unit by a few millimetres. I can see into the casing and i see the glue lines on the casing. Can I just probably use something like quick dry glue and put it back together? What should I keep in mind while doing this?
