@jpowell22270 yes you can use a guitar pick. They make different sizes for those, get yourself a couple of different thickness. They always come in handy. A heating pad can work but it has to get warm enough. Overall temp around 75-80 deg C will definitely work. To keep track of the screws, I use an ice cube tray from an old fridge. You can use whatever has multiple compartments. I have seen people using pill box organizer and egg cartons and were successful with those as well. You got a large community here to help you with this. Just don't get ahead of yourself and following the guide will make this a success.

a guitar pick, an old credit card cut into 4 strips, any kind of plastic (or even metal) spudger, just make sure it's not sharp like a blade, will all do the work of a pick. you can also look on ebay for people selling things like batteries or screens, they'll often sell them with tools or without. the tools will usually include a pentalobe, a trilobe and a philips screwdriver plus picks and/or spudgers. sometimes they sell just the tools for a buck or two with free shipping. you just need to be diligent to hunt them down.

as for a heating pad, i don't use one. if a pinch i use a milwaukee tools heat gun that i bought 20 years ago for paint stripping and shrink-wrapping. honestly though i don't use it that much, but it's good to know it's there when i need it.

as for keeping the screws straight, for the phone i'm directly working on, i use these

although i buy them from a local restaurant supply company for about $0.20 each. for each part i remove, i'll put it and the related screws into its own cup. this way you keep parts and screws together. if there are multiple screws for a part (like the battery, video, home button bracket plate) i use the ifixit repair guide to give me the specific data on where each screw goes for that part. if i'm needing to put that phone aside to work on another i use something like this

for each cup of parts, then put all the parts (and phone case, display, battery) into a bigger bag (like a ziplock sandwich bag).
sure this isn't an exact screw/location map, but it does keep the relevant screws together with the relevant parts and finding which screw goes where is fairly easy at that point.

as far as the ADD and HFA goes, it doesn't have to be something that hinders you. reaching out to this forum is a great way to get technical advice as well as advice on how to overcome difficulties. remember, asking for help is not a weakness, it's a strength that demonstrates one's desire to overcome obstacles and solve problems. and this is a great community to be a part of for that.

as with anything, take it slow, build your understanding and skills, move on to greater challenges in increments you can manage. a baby first learns to crawl, then stand then walk. it takes years and years of practice and work before they're running a marathon.
