MacBook Pro Will Not Charge or Turn On
I have a MacBook Pro that had a charging adapter that started sparking, so I ordered a replacement adapter.
When I received the adapter and plugged it in, the screen of the Mac showed a discharged battery with a charging lightning bolt under it.
I left it charging for an hour then tried to start up the machine and it still showed the same icon. I then tried a different charging adapter with the same result.
It was suggested to me to replace the power port in the computer as it may have been damaged by the sparking adapter. I ordered a replacement board and installed it in the MacBook Pro.
I reassembled the computer making sure to replace all the connectors and screws. I plugged in the adapter to the new charging port and it went green, then orange. I pressed the power button but nothing happened (the screen did not even light.
I did a SMC reset and even tried starting up with the battery disconnected from the motherboard. No luck. What can I try to do to see if the motherboard is OK or if the computer is worth replacing?
