Have seen plastic particles in wash. Looks like the drum is rubbing on the outer drum?
The spindle also makes a rubbing/grainy noise when you spin it, & it will move both ways.
Does this mean the spindle needs replaced? & what about the drum issue?

Here's the motor drive assembly parts diagram that may help to see what's wrong and with the tub rubbing on the drum check if the suspension rods (#401 & #402) are OK.
If you find a faulty part, scroll down and click on the part in the link to find the manufacturer's part number and use that number to find other suppliers that may suit you better.
