Just confirming that the 3 prong wall outlet is a 240 V AC supply installed for the combo unit i.e. 2 x 120V active wires, each supply separately fused in the power box and a Neutral wire and not that it is the standard household 3 prong outlet of 1 x 120V active, 1 x Neutral and 1 x earth
Note: At least one of the 120V power supplies to the wall outlet needs its own fuse. The other 120V supply can be connected to the same fuse as the other wall outlets in that area of the premises

Yes. We have lived here for 16 yrs and have had front load sets as well as another fridgedair unit with no issues such as this one.

OK, but did those units require 120V AC or 240V AC to work? The combo unit requires 240V AC
You need to check that there is 240V AC between the 2 Active pins of the wall outlet socket that the combo unit is connected to
If there is 240V AC between the 2 Active pins then check that there is 120V AC between each Active pin and the Neutral pin in the socket. This is to make sure that the Neutral wire is OK
If there is no 240V then do the 2nd test above to check which 120V AC supply is missing.
Be safety aware: If you don't know how to test potentially lethal AC voltage safely, then don't do it! Call an electrician

According to person bought from yes. Only change I made was switching 4 prong cord to 3 prong for our current outlet.
