Where is the 2nd capacitor in my AC unit?

I bought a spare motor run capacitor for my ac unit - it is found inside the service panel. It’s an American Standard, model 4TTX6060E1000AA. From the wiring diagram I found on line, I know there is a second capacitor. It will presumably be for the fan? Can anyone tell me where I can find it? Is it internal to the fan?

Refrigerators have wiring diagrams pasted on the back panel or printed, folded and inserted into a tyvek envelope behind the front grill. There may be a wiring diagram in the service panel or elsewhere to review. There's also a possibility that your fan motor doesn't use a starting capacitor

@fixitmyself should be located around the area of where the contactor is located. Post some pictures of your unit (wiring etc.) so we can try and assist you with this

I couldn’t seem to load a photo of the wiring diagram from my iPad. So here is a link to the wiring diagram. Go to page 8 for the 4XTT6060C. Mine is a 4XTT6060E but should be the same.

hi @fixitmyself63

I don't know where the capacitors are literally located but looking at the wiring diagram they are both associated with the compressor.

There is no capacitor associated with the fan

Here's an image from the diagram where I've marked them both.

If you trace the wire colours as shown on the diagram from the compressor start relay and also the compressor itself you should be able to find them.

Thanks @jayeff. I was thinking same after I posted the link. I’m out of town at the moment and will check when I get home.
