Why won't my Wii U work anymore?

So I finally got my prized Wii U back, but it's not working. I power it on, the blue light comes on, and the disc reader checks for any discs. However this is where the problem comes in. The screen stays black and the GamePad cannot connect anymore. Cannot even shut if off normally, have to either force it to shutdown or unplug the AC... I do remember that my Mom threw it really hard on the ground multiple times in an attempt to stop it from ever working again. Please help this is all I have left :(
