Can I bend my iPod back into shape? Dented in headphone spot

My brand new ipod of about three days just fell off of my counter, not a big fall. However, the way it landed caused the little spot for the headphone entry to dent in. This makes in impossible for any headphones to enter, and impossible for it to be used due to this little problem. The rest of the ipod works fine and is completely functional. Is there any way I can fix it without buying a completely new ipod? I can't believe that the model was made with such lack of strength. My old ipod fell numerous times and never endured any sort of damage.
