Why wont my fan shut off?

I recently switch out the battery for my mac and when i turned it back on the fan on the left hand side wont turn off. It is consistently on and i have reset the SMC and it is still running really fast.

run the onboard diagnostics Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac Let us know what the error message/s are.
