Connect to iTunes to restore message. Itunes wont recognize my iPod

I recently upgraded all my 30GB parts to 80GB parts. (for complete list see bottom)

When I plug it in the hard drive spins up but I get the "connect to your computer use itunes to restore" but when i plug it in all i get is the "do not disconnect" screen and itunes will not recognize any device.

How do I get iTunes to recognize my iPod?

  • scroll wheel ( I dont think my scroll wheel is working)
  • battery
  • hard drive
  • back plate
  • hold/headphone jack

Did your 30GB work before the upgrade? Did you try disk mode to see if your computer recognizes it (not itunes)?
