Hi @xdrokai,

What is the make and model number of the motherboard?

What OS is installed?

What is the make and model number of the PSU?

Does this only occur on the same USB port or on all available USB ports?

Mobo: MSI B450M A-Pro Max

PSU: MSI MAG A650BN

Windows 10 was installed in it.

This mostly happened for the front usb panel on the case. Although now i just use ethernet cable. So, i haven't faced the problem for a while. Just want to know if there's something wrong with it.

@xdrokai

You won't know until you have tried a few things.

Did you try using different cables to connect the USB devices just to eliminate them as a possible cause of the problem?

Does it happen on all the front ports?

Does it happen on the motherboard's rear USB ports?

What about the external HDD, does it still have problems?

If only on the front ports which ones? Is it always the same one?

If so maybe check that the cable that connects the front panel ports to the motherboard is securely attached to the motherboard's header pins.

It's a new PC so nothing should be wrong with it. If there is a problem it is better to find out before the warranty expires especially if it is on the motherboard or even in the case hardware

Alright so I have checked it again and it seems that the problem now only occurs on the usb 3.0 port on the front panel. I guess I have to check the cable then?

@xdrokai

Worth a look.

Check JUSB3 see p.14 of the motherboard's user manual

It could also be at the case's front panel connector end as well. Don't know if it's a hard wired connection there or a plug in type.

Be aware that if the PC is under warranty e.g. return to base type warranty by the supplier of PC, the suppliers may void the warranty if the PC has been opened. Some place a sticker on the case which is broken if the case panel is removed to gain access to the motherboard etc. Maybe something to think about before deciding whether to open it up or not.
