Acer G9-793-78CM laptop won't start

My Acer Predator G9-793-78CM laptop won't start. The battery has been slowly wearing out but I didn't think that would cause it not to start at all when plugged in. The battery indicator light is red when plugged in. Do I need to replace my battery, the charger, both or something else entirely? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Remove the battery completely from the device. Unplug it, hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Then, plug it back in (without the battery) and try to power it on. If nothing, try again with the battery inserted again.

Thanks for the quick response! I absolutely would try this but the battery is inside under the case, not easy to remove. I tried removing the screws from the back case to try to get to the battery but some of the screws are impossible/difficult to remove. Not sure where to go from here. I was considering purchasing a Power Precision Screwdriver to help loosen them up but I'm worried about stripping the screws.

Thank you so much, this worked for me. My g9-793-78cm wouldn't charge or power on at all, I assumed the power supply or battery was bad (they still might be the reason it suddenly died in the first place. Ordered new ones.) But, I couldn't get it to power on or even start to charge the battery. Hopefully, this stays functional until my replacements arrive.
