Why won't it turn on. Brand new, fully charged.
Bought today. Waited excitedly for it to charge fully.
Unplugged it, turned it on, nothing happened.
Plug it back in and now even the charger light won't come on.

This sounds like a defective unit. See if the store you got it from will offer a refund.

You are 100% right.
I finally got in touch with the support team and after following their trouble shooting tips it has been declared defective.
Think I will choose refund over replacement as I am worried it may happen again.
So wanted the light show though ☹
