Hi,
You don’t take the lens cover off, you remove the entire tail light assembly and remove the bulb from the rear of the assembly.
Here’s a video that may help. It shows how to remove the right side tail light assembly but it is the same for the left side, in that you need to unbolt the assembly to remove it from the body of the vehicle.
