iPad 6 no power, 0.01A and no DFU

Hi!

I have a iPad 6 that’s give me no power. When i coonect it to DC it draws 0.00 and 0.01A when I pressing powerbutton. No connection to computer at all.

What can I do to continue the troubleshooting? I have no idea what to do when it’s this small currents.

Thanks!

Does it draw any current when you connect to the computer, but keep it on DC power? It won't boot without the battery connected, but it will at least prompt the unit to turn on in a way that's not related to the power button.

(in your case, assuming you have already tried 1 & 2, your original question would indicate that 3 & 4 are also done)

In my experience, iPad charging issues follow this pattern:

  1. Always try another Lightning cable and charger, preferably Apple original or MFi certified units.
  2. The Lightning cable 8-pin connector should be sitting flush with the housing and completely inserted. If it is not, there could be lint/dust/debris inside the port impeding a proper connection. You can clean it out with a toothpick, fine point tweezers or a dental pick. Just be careful not to damage the pins inside the Lightning Port.
  3. Check the battery condition with a software tool like 3uTools. If the battery shows signs or wear (less than 70-75% of design capacity), replace the battery.
  4. Check the battery charging with a USB ammeter. If the battery isn’t drawing 1-2A, depending on the charger and charge state, it may be a bad battery or faulty charging circuit. (On older devices, it’s usually the battery ;>).
  5. If/when you open the device, check the screws holding the charge port in place (see step 84 of this guide). The ones highlighted can become loose. If they are loose, your charge port flex is almost certainly damaged and will require replacement (micro-soldering required).
  6. If the flex is good and the battery seems fine, then it may be logic board related. This can be the Tristar IC or in some cases the PMIC. the PMIC is a difficult repair and the replacement part is quite expensive.

Hey @xingxing, not sure that I'm "back" but I still keep an eye out for SPAM on my previous answers...and whenever somebody turns on the bat signal, I tend to respond :-).

hello Johan,

You don't write anything about iPad's origin, about its last known moments. This is very important information that you need to take to take any action. My guess is that the tablet shut down one day and was under repair somewhere. I think he is just as raped as anyone else for now, with similar experiences. <br> In a few cases, these were damaged pins in the charging port (in which case electronic confirmation is required). In others, in most cases, if someone opened the iPad, most likely, when trying to disconnect the battery, he broke the power contacts. If you are into microelectronics, you have to remove the board and check the connections. If you cannot solder and do not have the necessary technical background, find a good repair shop - really good one, you have to confirm its references - otherwise your tablet will never turn on again (due to lack of technical knowledge - most of them are still learning on YT).
