UPS power on but battery quick losing charge even with new battery

I have Cyberpower UPS, I had the battery replaced about 6 years ago recently the battery was completely dead so I figure it is time to buy a new battery. I replaced it with a new battery as I turned the UPS back on it has about 70% charge so I assumed everything should be working now it just needs to fully charge the battery. A few days later, the new battery was completely dead, I assumed I just got a faulty or old battery so I bought another. I put my 2nd new battery to put in my UPS, the first time I turn on the unit it showed 74% battery follow after that I turned it off and turned it back on again it showed 49% battery, this time I let the battery charge up. After 16 hours later, it only went up by 10% and it won’t charge up above 60% after that another 6 hours. Once again, I turned the UPS off so I can move to a different wall outlet to see if that make a difference, when I turned the UPS back on it showed only 7% battery left. I am thinking it is no longer a battery issue or rather my UPS might be the issue.

Unfortunately, I cannot find a service manual for the UPS but it seems as though it is a) not charging the battery and b) is actually discharging it.

Obvious I know so I can only suggest that you try to reset the UPS by disconnecting the power, removing the battery and then holding the power on button for a full 30 seconds, then release.

This is in case it is a software glitch that may be causing the problem.

Reconnect the battery i.e. red to red and black to black and reinsert into the UPS. Reconnect the power and check. If the battery is low it may take up to 8 hours to charge.

HI Henry

It sounds like a Machine fault if you already replaced the batteries its a machine fault now . I would recommend for you to contact manufacturer for further assistance as it might be a simple setting gone wrong. In another instance reset the machine to factory default and hopefully it should resolve your issue for you . I would also suggest changing the power cable if possible to rule out other faults.

thank

Yeah, I tested both the batteries with a battery tester showed both units was actually fully charged, I guess the unit must have reached the end of its life after about 13 years.
