My phone won't turn on, and it's been charging for multiple hours.

My phone was working fine this morning from around 7-8 AM, but when I set my phone on a bench it fell screen first and now it won’t turn on when I’ve dropped it in the past this has never happened before. There are no cracks on the front or back, just a small scratch on the bottom right corner. Throughout the day I’ve tried different things (letting it charge, holding down the power button from 20 seconds to a minute, holding down the volume button, and power button from 20 seconds to 2 minutes, doing all of the above on a charger, and even with the charger connected to my computer) but nothing has worked. It’s been off for about 11 hours and has been on the charger for 2-3 of those hours. When I plug in the charger my phone attempts to start, the charging symbol shows up (white lightning bolts with a grey circle around it), it vibrates once, then part of the screen shuts off almost at the top of the lightning bolt and the screen dims without turning on. I don’t know what to do, please help. I haven’t contacted any assistance but I will probably stop at the Verizon store either tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. My phone hasn’t been in any contact with water by the way.

@thefe_w this could be as simp[le as a bad battery to as complex as trhe charging circuit/power circuit on your circuit board. WE would need to see your PCB for that so we can mark the components to check etc.

You would need to perform some troubleshooting like this

In the event of charging issues :

1.Do visual inspection on USB Type-C connector or Mods Connector, battery connector and battery pack.

2.Check charging voltages along the charging path.

● When Insert adapter , measure USB_PWR charger input voltage at C2415. The voltage should be around 5V with regular chargers and around 9V with turbo chargers. When insert Mods , measure USB_VBUS_IN input voltage at C2406. The voltage should be around 5V or 9V.

● Check B_PLUS voltage at C2404. It should be higher than 2.1V and lower than 4.35V.

● Check the battery voltage at C2409. It should be higher than 2.1V and lower than 4.35V. If the battery is below 2.1V, there maybe a short in the circuit somewhere and the battery protection circuit has been triggered.3.Check battery thermistor

● Battery temperature should be in the range of 0ºC ~ 45ºC to be fully charged. Check the thermistor voltage at the test point (BAT_TEMP,R2400). It should be around 1.35V at room temperature (25ºC).

So for now I suggest you start with a new battery and then start digging deeper by post some good pictures of your PCB with your QUESTION. iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法
