Television won't come out of demo mode

We have a Sharp LC32CHG69021K TV. For the past week whenever it is switched on, we have to go through a first time installation in order for it to work. On switch off it goes back to having Poland as its default. Then there is the model number emblazoned across the top left hand corner of the screen and a big K underneath in a blue box. This remains on the screen throughout. The only time this disappeared was when my 5 year old sat on the remote control. I have tried all the remote control buttons and they do not get rid of this notice on the screen, nor did sitting randomly on the remote control myself!

We were having another TV repaired and the repairer said that he thinks that the TV is in demo mode. If this is the case, how do I switch this off and get this to remain in normal set up?

Would really appreciate any help and advice please.

Hi @sjhitchen ,

Did you mean a Sharp LC32CHG6021K?

If so try a factory reset and check if this resolves the problem.

After the reset you will have to set it up again but hopefully only the one time.

Thank you for your advice. Unfortunately neither the TV nor the remote have the requisite buttons to do the hard reset as explained in the article. Very baffling.

Hey, I know I am kind of Late to answer this for you, But it is better late than never. So,I have gone through the same thing recently, where could not find out what was happening. and Later found out my Sharp TV was in store mode.

Googled for it and found at many places that it is a TV mode that needs to be turned off once you buy a new one. tried a factory reset didn't work,

finally turned off by turning off picture reset mode and demo mode under the system settings . Here are some methods to turn it off too, do give it a try nd turn off the store mode.
