I have the Pikachu edition new 2ds XL. I’ve had it charging overnight and when I plug it in again the orange light flashes on before turning off after awhile, indicating it’s charged. However when I press the power button, the screen device doesn’t turn on. I held the power button to try a hard reset but that didn’t work either.
The battery probably needs to be replaced. Mine is the exact same one and I have a similar problem. I charged it overnight and went to play some games after unplugging it and it started alright, but the red lights were flashing so I plugged it back in. It worked fine when I played it plugged in, but it’s unhealthy for the battery, so I stopped. Nintendo says you can’t open it and replace the battery, but there are many tutorials on YouTube on how to replace it. I’m working on finding a battery online for mine.
